She Believes (a poem)

She doesn’t simply

tolerate my fairy tales

— when I fall into them

like Alice, down

the rabbit hole.

She grabs my hand

and leaps with me

— eats the other

half of my cakes,

drinks the potions

from my lips.

Together we slay

the Jabberwock!

Then in the end

— hand in hand,

we always go

galumphing back.
